Gaddesden riding
The estate is well supplied with farm roads, tracks, woodland rides and a five furlong gallop. There are 30 jumps, mostly 2ft – 3ft 3ins, which are suitable for novice horses and riders.
The Gaddesden countryside is an enchanting mixture of parkland, arable and grazing interspersed with ancient woodland, much of it overlooking the lovely valley of the River Gade.
For many years local people have been able to ride on the roads and cart tracks. To encourage greater use of this beautiful landscape, Gaddesden Riding came into existence in 1991 with almost eight miles of roads and tracks available for riders. The rides include three cross-country jumping lanes and a jumping complex. Extensions and improvements to the rides are reviewed on an annual basis.
