Staithe Barn refurbished
In 1953 there was a major flood on the East Anglian Coast. The staircase wall of Staithe Barn is built of chalk. It has been said that the chalk absorbed the seawater half a century ago and never recovered. This may or may not be correct, though we have now completely lined the wall of the staircase, matchboarded it and redecorated.
The balcony needed resurfacing and now sports a wooden Cedar floor. The railings have been modernised and the French windows replaced, along with the front door.
The thought behind the design was to attempt to reflect the former industrial use of the building, while giving it a modern, timeless nautical look.

Shakespeare on the Estate
What a wonderful evenings we all had being entertained by Oddsocks Productions! In 2010 it was "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and in 2011 it was "Macbeth". We hope they will return with their quirky version of "Julius Caesar" in 2012.
