The
Gaddesden countryside is an enchanting mixture
of parkland, arable and grazing interspersed
with ancient woodland, much of it overlooking
the lovely valley of the River Gade.
For many years local people have been able
to ride on the roads and cart tracks. To
encourage greater use of this beautiful
landscape, Gaddesden Riding came into existence
in 1991 with almost eight miles of roads
and tracks available for riders.

The rides include three cross-country jumping
lanes and a jumping complex.
Extensions and improvements to the rides
are reviewed on an annual basis.
The jumps range from 2ft to 3ft 3ins and
are mostly suitable for novice horses and
riders and are nearly all natural jumps.
